PONIES

Season 1

Show Overview

PONIES is a 2026 Peacock spy thriller starring Bea (Emilia Clarke) and Twila (Haley Lu Richardson). Set in 1970s Moscow, the characters are secretaries for the American embassy, who after the mysterious deaths of their operative husbands, become undercover CIA agents. Under the guise of "Persons Of No Interest" (PONIES), they navigate dangerous Cold War espionage, uncover deep conspiracies, and confront KGB threats in a blend of drama and dark comedy.

Created by longtime collaborators Susanna Fogel and David Iserson, the show blends period design, emotional stakes, and a tonal blend of drama and comedy.

Campaign Hooks

Local News, Global Laughs

The campaign frames the protagonists as outsiders suddenly thrust into the secret world of espionage. Visual storytelling highlights the contrast between their ordinary identities and the extraordinary missions they are forced to undertake. Key art can play with dual identities—everyday personas layered with covert spy imagery—to emphasize the tension between who they were and who they must become.

New Beat, Same Crew

The campaign leans into the iconic aesthetic of 1970s spycraft—analog technology, coded messages, smoky bars, and shadowy European streets. Graphic elements could reference vintage intelligence dossiers, redacted files, and surveillance photography to evoke the tactile world of pre-digital espionage. The tone positions the series as a stylish throwback to classic spy thrillers with a modern edge.

Deadline Comedy, Right Now

In espionage, trust is always temporary. The campaign highlights shifting alliances and hidden motives, suggesting that every character could be either ally or enemy. Marketing visuals can feature characters positioned like pieces on a chessboard, reinforcing the idea that global politics—and personal survival—are part of the same strategic game.
