The ‘Burbs

Season 1

Show Overview

Inspired by the cult classic film The 'Burbs, this Peacock reimagining of the beloved suburban satire, with Keke Palmer leading the ensemble cast. Set on a seemingly perfect cul-de-sac, the story follows a tight-knit neighborhood whose curiosity about a mysterious new neighbor quickly spirals into obsession. As suspicions grow and amateur investigations escalate, everyday suburban routines unravel into paranoia, chaos, and unexpected adventure.

Balancing mystery and comedy, the series explores the strange dynamics of neighborhood life—where manicured lawns and friendly block parties conceal deeper secrets. What begins as simple curiosity soon becomes a full-blown neighborhood conspiracy, raising the question: how well do we really know the people living next door?

Campaign Hooks

Suburban Suspicion

The campaign taps into the universal curiosity—and paranoia—of neighborhood life. Visual storytelling centers on voyeuristic imagery: curtains slightly pulled back, binoculars pointed across the street, doorbell cameras capturing suspicious moments. The tone positions the cul-de-sac as a place where everyone is watching everyone else.

Behind The Hedges

Bright suburban imagery contrasts with unsettling undertones. Campaign visuals may feature pristine lawns, pastel homes, and cheerful neighborhood scenes disrupted by subtle hints of danger—strange shadows, mysterious lights, or ominous silhouettes. The juxtaposition reinforces the show’s central idea: perfection is often a façade.

The Neighbor Next Door

At the center of the story is the mystery of the new family on the block. The campaign builds intrigue by revealing just enough to spark suspicion while keeping their true nature hidden. Teasing glimpses, obscured identities, and cryptic imagery invite audiences to join the neighborhood’s growing obsession.
