The Copenhagen Test

Season 1

Show Overview

The Copenhagen Test is an eight-episode Peacock espionage thriller starring Simu Liu as Alexander Hale, a CIA analyst who discovers his brain has been hacked by unknown enemies. The hackers can see and hear through his senses, forcing him to maintain a 24/7 performance to identify them while his own agency, The Orphanage, runs a counter-operation.

Written and created by Thomas Brandon and executive produced by James Wan, The Copenhagen Test explores the notion of technological advancement, and how the same tools designed to connect and protect us are increasingly repurposed to watch, manipulate, and exploit us.

Campaign Hooks

Inside Your Mind

The campaign leans into the terrifying premise that the protagonist’s senses are no longer his own. Visual language suggests surveillance from within—POV imagery, mirrored perspectives, and UI overlays that imply someone else is watching through Alexander Hale’s eyes. Key art and motion could play with fractured perspectives, dual exposures, and intrusive data graphics, placing the audience inside the psychological invasion.

The Surveillance State

This hook frames the series within the modern anxiety around technology and digital oversight. Campaign imagery pulls from espionage aesthetics—classified files, encrypted transmissions, biometric scans, and neural mapping—to suggest a world where intelligence agencies are pushing the boundaries of human experimentation. The tone positions the show as a techno-thriller rooted in contemporary fears about privacy, data, and control.

Trust Nothing

If someone can see through your senses, how do you know what’s real? The campaign emphasizes paranoia and uncertainty, positioning every environment, ally, and authority figure as potentially compromised. Creative executions can feature distorted realities, hidden observers, and subtle visual cues that hint someone—or something—is always watching.
